According to a recent survey conducted by the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, the number of cosmetic procedures performed nationwide decreased by over 12 percent in 2008. In Maryland, Plastic Surgery Services' number of patients actually increased in 2008, despite the sharp decline in procedures nationally.

Most women under the age of 40 are not as heavily invested in the stock market nor facing imminent retirement," Dr. Garazo comments.
